Residential
In Year 6 children have the opportunity to go on a residential. We do this at the start of Year 6 to unite the year group as a team and allow relationships with Year 6 staff to build quickly at the start of an important year for the children. This enriching opportunity also builds independence skills and confidence in our pupils.
In September 2023, Year 6 will be going to Kingswood Residential Centre in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. The centre itself has stunning views over Whitecliff Bay and direct beach access. Located in a Site of Special Scientific Interest, it provides the perfect destination for environmental and history studies along the dramatic Jurassic Coast. As well as this, the adventure activity facilities are excellent. These include: a high-adrenaline ropes park, two abseiling towers, zip wire, 3G swing, archery, buggy driving, bushcraft, orienteering, fencing, indoor swimming pool and an array of sea-based pursuits, from raft building to body boarding and kayaking to name a few! The opportunities are endless!
Both pupils and staff love our residential week away and it is most definitely the highlight of the year for all of us! We conquer fears and have fun making unforgettable memories together!
