Year 1 Trip to Fort Nelson
Year 1 Visit to Fort Nelson
On Tuesday 10th June, the Year 1 children enjoyed a fantastic educational trip to Fort Nelson in Portsmouth. The highlight of the day was meeting Florence Nightingale, who taught the children all about the improvements she introduced to hospitals during the Crimean War. The pupils also learned about the importance of healthy eating and how keeping hospitals clean and bright can help patients recover more quickly. It was a wonderful day filled with learning and fun!
“I liked Gunner because he was silly and funny and he played a trick on Florence Nightingale!” – Aslan
“I liked the part where we went underground and acted because I liked being a soldier.” – Lucy
“I liked meeting Florence Nightingale and Gunner Scrubs.” – Liliana
“I loved it when Gunner Scrubs made Florence Nightingale’s note into a hat. He was funny when he blew the horn.” Ephraim
