School Council
The School Council at St. Mary’s is made up from two representatives from each of the eight classes. The children put themselves forward, prepare a short speech about why they would be good at the role and are then voted for by their peers. In the first meeting the Councillors vote for a chair, vice-chair and secretary.
The group then meet at least once a half-term to discuss topics that are linked to learning and supporting the children in feeling safe and settled at St. Mary’s. The group also fosters links with the local community by regularly collecting for the local food bank.
We are grateful to this dedicated group of children for giving up their time and ensuring that every opinion within the school community is considered.
