The week before half term saw Mortimer St Mary’s take part in the Premier League School’s football week.  During lunchtimes, year 5 and 6 pupils ran activities for children in years 3 and 4 which they all thoroughly enjoyed and it was fantastic to see our older pupils being great role models for the younger pupils.  

On Wednesday 26th May the whole school took part in football tournaments within their classes with some children saying: “I really liked how everyone was included in the team and cheering people on.“

“We enjoyed it as it was so different!  We’d like to do tournaments more!“

Back in class, they also looked at what it means to be an ally and to support others who face racism with the opportunity to enter an art challenge which supports the Premier League’s No Room for Racism initiative. 

“It’s been interesting learning about allyship and the tournament was good!“

“This was the best lesson ever!“
