The Mortimer Federation were delighted that we were asked to design snowmen for the Englefield Estate Snowman Trail again this year.

Mortimer St. John’s – Some of the children within Year 1 used some of the designs created by the children to decorate two snowmen for the Englefield Estate Snowman Trail. The children decided which of the designs they liked the best and then used these to bring the wooden snowmen to life, making sure to include all the details on the design.
The children used acrylic paints to create the features on the snowmen. The snowmen looked fantastic and very snuggly in their scarves. The children were very proud of their final work and cannot wait to see the snowmen in the woodlands on the trail. See if you can spot the MSJ snowmen!

Mortimer St. Mary’s – Every child at Mortimer St. Mary’s had the opportunity to put forward a snowman design, if they wanted to have the chance of painting the 2 wooden snowmen for the Snowman trail. One design from each class was chosen by their Class Teacher, and these children got to work in a small group with Mrs Bassford.  They had to collaborate and pick features from their own snowmen, to make 2 final designs which were then painted onto the wooden snowmen. We hope you agree that they look fabulous! Well done to the children for using their ‘creativity’ and ‘collaboration’ learning powers!
